Hushathite:

hu'-shath-it, (chushathi, "a dweller in Hushah"?): The patronymic given in two forms, but probably of the same man, Sibbeccai, one of David's thirty heroes (2Sa 21:18; 1Ch 11:29; 20:4; 27:11), or Mebunnai as named in the parallel passage (2Sa 23:27).

Hushathite:

(inhabitant of Hushah) The, the designation of two of the heroes of David's guard.

(1.) SIBBECHAI (2 Samuel 21:18; 1 Chronicles 11:29; 20:4; 27:11). Josephus, however, called him a Hittite. SEE [SIBBECHAI].

(2.) MEBUNNAI (2 Samuel 23:27) a mere corruption of SIBBECHAI. SEE [SIBBECHAI].
