a-pas' ("at a pace"): With "come," 2Sa 18:25; "flee," Jer 46:5, for "rapidly," "hastily," "fast," corresponding to a Hebrew idiom that adds emphasis or intensity to an idea by repetition of the word or its equivalent.

Apace: At a Quick Pace; Quickly.

Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? And their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled APACE, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the LORD. Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates. (Jeremiah 46:5-6)
