Believers Are Abraham's Children

1O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.

2I just want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?

3Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now trying to reach the goal by the flesh?

4Did you experience so many things for nothing, if it were indeed for nothing?

5So then, does the one who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, do it by the works of the law? Or does he do it by your believing what you hear—

6in the same way as Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness”?

7Understand, then, that those who believe are the children of Abraham.

8Foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, Scripture proclaimed the gospel in advance to Abraham, saying, “In you, all nations will be blessed.”

13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. As it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.” who is Christ.

17What I am saying is this: The law, which came into being 430 years after the covenant established earlier by God in Christ, does not annul that covenant, with the result that it invalidates the promise.

18In fact, if the inheritance is by the law, it is no longer by the promise. But God graciously gave it to Abraham by a promise.

The Law as Chaperone

19Then what about the law? It was added for the purpose of revealing transgressions, until the Seed until Christ, so that we might be justified by faith.

25But now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a chaperone.Sons of God Through Faith

26In fact, you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

27Indeed, as many of you as were baptized into Christ have been clothed with Christ.

28There is not Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female, for you are all one and the same in Christ Jesus.

29And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants and heirs according to the promise.
