“The Lord says, ‘Because the daughters of Zion are haughty and walk with outstretched necks, glancing wantonly with their eyes, mincing along as they go, tinkling with their feet; therefore the Lord will strike with a scab the heads of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will lay bare their secret parts.'” – Isaiah 3:16-17

We live in an age that often celebrates excess and attracts us towards lavish lifestyles. However, our call is to be counter-cultural by embracing a modest life that glorifies God. Living modestly amidst temptations means making purposeful choices that reflect our values and avoid the pressures of society to fit in. We lean on God’s strength to resist temptation and to continually strive for greater things, reminding ourselves that true beauty lies in our relationship with Him.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” – Romans 12:1

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.” – 1 John 2:15-16

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.” – Matthew 5:14-16
